About the Team Rynkeby School Run
How the Fundraising Works
Before the race, students can find sponsors among family, friends, neighbors, or local businesses. Sponsors can choose to donate a smaller amount for each lap or kilometer the student completes, or they can agree on a fixed amount.
The students record their sponsorships on the sponsorship form provided by their teacher. Once the race is complete, the students tally their laps or kilometers and calculate how much each sponsor needs to contribute.
Afterward, the students inform their sponsors of the amount due. The money is paid via the school's MobilePay number, which is listed directly on the sponsorship form given to the student.
After the race, all students receive a certificate in recognition of their effort.
What do the funds go towards?
The funds raised by Team Rynkeby School Run support research into critical illnesses in children and young people. There is still a need for more knowledge on how to prevent, detect, and treat illnesses in children, so that more kids can receive the help they need.
When a child is living with a serious illness, it affects their daily life, energy, play, and opportunities to participate like other children.
In each country, the fundraising goes to the organization that Team Rynkeby partners with locally. What unites all countries is that the children run to help other children and to be part of a noble cause that extends beyond just the race day.
The Journey to the School Run
When you register for the Team Rynkeby School Race, please provide as accurate a number as possible for the children participating. This number will be used to determine how many materials will be delivered for the race day.
You can change the number of participants until the registration deadline. You can do this via the link in the confirmation email received by the contact person once the institution is registered.
After the registration deadline, it will no longer be possible to change the number. You will therefore receive materials for the number of children registered by the deadline.
Shortly after registration, the institution will be contacted by a participant from the Team Rynkeby team closest to you.
The local team will assist you with information, guidance, and practical support leading up to race day, ensuring you have a solid start in planning the Team Rynkeby School Race.
Before the event, you will receive the materials you need to successfully hold the Team Rynkeby School Run.
You will receive, among other things:
Posters that can be used to promote the event
Printed letters to parents, if you requested them
Sponsor forms for the children
Certificates for the children
A symbolic check that can be presented to the local Team Rynkeby team
Therefore, you do not need to print the materials yourself. You will also receive a unique MobilePay number, provided by the Team Rynkeby Foundation. This number will be printed on the relevant materials to make the payment process as simple as possible.
If you have not received the materials before the event, please contact your liaison at the local Team Rynkeby team as soon as possible.
In the weeks leading up to the event, gathering the kids for a kickoff can be a great idea. Here, you can share what to expect on race day, how the fundraising works, and why the children are running for a worthy cause.
A kickoff provides the children with a deeper understanding that the race is about more than just physical activity. It's about making a difference for other children through community, movement, and small efforts that can together create something significant.
You can use the kickoff to talk to the children about the organization that Team Rynkeby School Run supports in your country and how the funds raised will help children and families in need. Some schools and institutions also choose to invite a local representative, a family, or others with personal experiences to share why the support matters.
The local Team Rynkeby team is happy to provide inspiration and guidance so you can create a successful kickoff that suits your children, environment, and race day.
After the kickoff, the children can receive the materials they need in preparation for the race. This might include a letter for parents and a sponsorship form that the children can use to seek micro-sponsors among family, friends, neighbors, or local businesses.
After the kickoff, the children can find micro-sponsors among family, friends, neighbors, or local businesses. A micro-sponsor can choose to support with a small amount per lap or kilometer that the child completes on race day.
It is also possible to support with a fixed amount that doesn’t depend on how far the child runs. This way, everyone can contribute in the manner that suits them best.
All sponsors will be recorded on the sponsorship form that the child has received. Here, the child can keep track of who has chosen to support them and how the sponsorship is arranged.
It is important to remind the children that the race is not about who raises the most money. Every contribution counts, and the most vital thing is for the children to feel that they are making a difference together.
The children and sponsors should not write the amount on the sponsorship label. It is used to show that the child is participating in the race and is supporting a good cause.
Here you can see how much each school raised in 2026.
If you want to increase the visibility of the Team Rynkeby School Race in your community, consider inviting local media to cover the event.
Team Rynkeby has prepared press materials that can be customized for your school or institution.
Some schools and institutions also choose to invite local athletes, celebrities, or other prominent figures from the area to participate on the day. This can help generate additional attention and make the race an even more memorable experience for the children.
We recommend that you allocate a maximum of one hour for the actual race. Warm-up, changing, and other practical activities can be scheduled separately.
The route should be a loop of 500 to 1,000 meters, making it easy to keep track of the children's laps along the way.
At the finish line, you can set up registration stations where parents, teachers, or educators record the children each time they pass. This can be done, for example, by marking a line on the child's arm with a marker for each lap.
At the end of the race, the number of laps or kilometers is noted on the child's sponsor sheet. Then, you calculate how much each sponsor will contribute to the fundraising effort.
After the event, sponsor contributions must be paid electronically. This can be done through the school's unique MobilePay number or by card payment.
You can continuously track how much has been raised at your school or institution by logging into the Team Rynkeby website using the unique link you received upon registration.
All contributions must be submitted electronically. The MobilePay number is available in the materials provided to you, and it is also possible to make a contribution through the Team Rynkeby website.
When sponsors pay through the website, they can receive tax deductions if they provide their CPR number or CVR number at the time of payment.
It is not possible to issue invoices or accept cash sponsorships. An electronic payment will generate a receipt sent via email, which can be used as documentation for your accounts.
Once the sponsorship contributions are registered with Team Rynkeby Foundation, the school or institution's fundraising effort will be concluded.
The designated contact person will then automatically receive a receipt via email. This will include the total amount raised by the school or institution through the Team Rynkeby School Race.
This amount can be used to inform children, parents, and staff about the impact of your collective efforts.
