Selection
Team Rynkeby will cycle to Paris from July 3 to July 10, 2027. The journey takes eight days.
Application
You can participate as a cyclist or support crew member. You can read more about it here.
In both cases, you need to fill out an application form, which you can find right here.
The teams are formed by the local team captains, who aim to create a diverse group with a good balance of gender, age, and professional background. You will typically receive a response to your application within a week after the application deadline.
If your application is unsuccessful, you are more than welcome to reapply for the next season.
To participate in Team Rynkeby, you must be at least 18 years old. However, there is no upper age limit.
The application window for the upcoming season closes at the end of August, and all applicants will receive direct notification shortly after the deadline.
Your application to be part of Team Rynkeby 2027 must be submitted by August 31, 2026.
To make your application stand out, focus on three key areas:
The heart behind your commitment. Honestly explain why you want to spend your free time making a difference for children with critical illnesses. Your passion for the cause is the project's most vital fuel.
Your personal contributions to the team. A successful team needs a variety of skills. Share how you can contribute with technical know-how for the bikes, logistical support in service vehicles, cooking, social media outreach, or simply being the cheerleader who lifts spirits during long training rides.
Support and network. The project spans ten months, with many mandatory training hours and team gatherings. Demonstrate that your schedule and network are in order to take on the challenge, and feel free to mention any business contacts that could open doors for new sponsorships for the fundraising efforts.
You will receive a confirmation email once you have completed the application form. If you do not receive an email, please check whether it has been caught in your spam filter, or if you may have entered your email address incorrectly.
Contact us at support@team-rynkeby.com if you still do not receive a confirmation for your application.
No, you do not automatically have a greater chance of being selected just because you applied in a previous season. Each year, the selection process starts anew, and all applications are evaluated individually on an equal basis.
The local team captains assemble the team based on the individuals who have applied for that specific season. The goal is always to create the best and most harmonious match, ensuring a broad and diverse representation in terms of gender, age, and professional background.
If you were not selected last time, do not hesitate to apply again. Instead, use your new application to make it even stronger by emphasizing your motivation for the cause and describing specifically what you can contribute to the team community.
Each application is assessed individually, so we cannot guarantee that you will be able to travel together.
We aim to inform you within a week after the application deadline.
Participation
In the 2027/2028 season, it costs 25,258 DKK to ride with Team Rynkeby. If you join a Gravel team, the price will be 27,216 DKK.
The fee covers the bike, cycling kit, hotels, and meals.
Additional expenses may arise (typically 2,000 to 5,000 DKK) for winter cycling gear, cycling shoes, sunglasses, training trips, ferry transport, extra overnight stays, and transportation home from Paris.
Support crew members pay 4,400 DKK to participate.
The short answer is no. You do not need to have finalized sponsorship agreements in place to be selected for the team. Team Rynkeby is built on the principle that everyone contributes to the best of their ability. Since our participants come from diverse backgrounds and networks, we deliberately do not set a fixed amount or require specific business agreements from individuals.
Instead, we expect everyone on the team to be passionate about the cause and actively participate in the fundraising efforts throughout the season. There are many ways to do this. Some have direct access to companies that want a visible logo on the cycling gear, while others make a significant effort by organizing local events, baking goods for charity sales, or initiating smaller activities in their communities.
The journey to Paris isn’t a timed race, but rather a recreational cycling tour that emphasizes community and social interaction. Teams typically ride at an average speed of around 25-27 km/h, making it accessible for everyone. However, the many daily stages on the open road require solid and focused preparation in the months leading up to departure.
We recommend that you aim for approximately 2,500 kilometers in the saddle – equivalent to over 125 hours of active training – throughout the autumn, winter, and spring.
A large portion of this mileage is built during the team's collective training rides, which resume in the spring months. The many hours spent cycling are not only about strengthening your legs but also about acclimating your body to long days in the saddle and developing the confidence to ride closely together in a large group.
As long as you are willing to invest the necessary time in preparation, you can confidently seek a spot on the team.
Local Teams
You can view the complete team list here.
Don't hesitate to apply if there isn't a team in your area. We may be able to find a solution.
Whenever Team Rynkeby expands and starts new teams, it is driven by local initiatives. Therefore, it’s entirely possible that you could help launch a Team Rynkeby team in your local area. Contact the country manager at Team Rynkeby to discuss the possibilities.
Companies can establish their own team within our shared framework. With a corporate team, your organization can take full ownership of its CSR efforts and demonstrate a proactive approach to social responsibility built on strong values.
You choose which employees, partners, or customers you want to invite to join the charitable journey. A corporate team serves as a fantastic tool for internal team building, promoting health, and strengthening company culture as everyone works towards a tangible, common goal.

Equipment
All participants ride the official Team Rynkeby racing bike.
The bike is included in the package you purchase when you sign up for Team Rynkeby, and of course, you can keep the bike afterwards. If you have a bike from previous years’ participation, you are more than welcome to use that.
If you’ve never cycled before, you may encounter additional expenses beyond the registration fee.
You will need items such as cycling shoes, sunglasses, and possibly some extra cycling clothing for both spinning and winter training. Additionally, you can expect costs for bike maintenance as well.
Tour de Paris
The length of the journey depends on your starting point.
The ride from Denmark to Paris is approximately 1,200 km long and takes place over seven stages. However, some teams choose to ride a prologue the day before the official start, making it a total of eight days in the saddle.
The shortest stage is around 100 km, while the longest is approximately 200 km. The length of the journey depends on the route taken by each team.
If you prefer to cycle less, we also offer a 100-kilometer team, where the daily stages on the way to Paris are tailored to a manageable level of a maximum of 100 kilometers per day.
The ride to Paris is not a timed race but a recreational cycling tour that everyone can join.
The teams typically ride at an average speed of around 25-27 km/h.
For practical and traffic safety reasons, the teams ride separately throughout the week.
With thousands of participants spread across many different teams, riding in one large group would create dangerous situations and unnecessary congestion on the roads. Several teams begin their journey from geographically nearby starting cities and largely follow the same routes towards the French capital.
Each team operates as an independent unit along the way, with its own support vehicles, designated stops, and hotel accommodations. The ultimate shared highlight is when all the teams come together to celebrate their arrival in Paris.
Financing Model for Team Rynkeby
While our participants volunteer their time and cover all personal expenses, running an international charity project of this scale does come with costs.
To enable the operation and development of the project, Team Rynkeby Foundation has an agreement that a maximum of 12 percent of the funds raised may be used for administrative purposes.
Team Rynkeby Foundation found that participants struggled to explain how the financing of the project's central costs was distributed between Eckes-Granini and the organizations.
This was partly due to the fact that in several countries, funds are allocated among two or more organizations, and in some cases, the distribution of funds differs between organizations.
At the same time, Team Rynkeby does not maintain the same expense budget year after year, which alters the need for co-financing from the organizations each year.
Therefore, there was a need for a simpler financing model that could be easily explained to the volunteers while still reflecting the project's complexity. For this reason, the board of the Team Rynkeby Foundation decided to change the financing model to allow Team Rynkeby to use up to 12 percent of the funds raised to develop and operate the Team Rynkeby project for the benefit of the organizations.
Team Rynkeby Foundation has evolved from a small local cycling team into an international charity project.
Running and developing a project with thousands of participants and sponsors requires significant funding—more than Eckes-Granini can finance alone.
That’s why the board of the Team Rynkeby Foundation has made agreements with partners and the organizations that receive funds, ensuring they contribute to financing the project. The funds are deducted from the total amount raised before they are handed over to the organizations. We have gathered our central costs on this page.
